Heater controls

Hi, I don't know what year car you have but if you look in the FAQ you will find an outline of the AC/heater controls.
Basically if you select 'Man' or 'Manual' the car should behave like any car without aircon.
In nearly 8 years with my 92 I have just about never used the aircon and always use 'Manual' to draw air from the outside.
Of course you also need to set the heat control to cold air, otherwise it will be warm, just like any other non aircon car.

Thanks for the quick reply, it is a 94 XJ40 Sport. I have attached a link showing type of panel. Do you know if clock can be replaced or is it part of panel?
Thanks

This is a reccuring type of problem. Sounds like one of your blowers might not be working properly.
To save typing, why not have a read of this thread and then see how you get on.

It will give you an insight into how the thing works etc.

Hi Richard,
Would you be able to help me with an owners manual diagram, I have a haynes manual which covers XJ40 to 94, but alas when it comes to heater blower removal it shows a model with a glovebox and mine doesn't have one. Spoken to an ex UK jag mechanic, now retired, who tells me the RH blower is under steering wheel on RH side of car, not under left footwell as earlier models seem to have sited. Comments appreciated.
Thanks

Already checked the 3 fuses, all OK. Seems I will have to live with it as the Jag guy reckons a good half a day if in a serene mood, otherwise a day to replace and all relays appear to be inside blower. Last hope is that the fuse panel may have lost a solder joint so I am going to get an auto electrician to check wires to blower. Do you have any info on removal of RH blower in a RHD car?
