1991 XJ40

Replacing outside driver's door handle. Old one is removed, new one is ready to go on - however there are TWO obsticales preventing this.

1) The gold colored metal rod that (I think) actuates the door lock from the handle fell off and I can't figure out where / how it attaches, and to what.

2) I can't figure out how the door opener rod attaches to the door handle hole (different angle?)

Does anyone have pictures that might be able to show any of this? I am completely lost!

I have a repair manual that is of no help.

I would really appreciate this.

 

Hi all!. Good news. I have the handle installed and working.

The only problem now is I cant figure out how the little rod goes that attaches to the lock on the handle. Lock actuator?
