It's prolly a defected ,dirty idle sensor . I guess your idle is not steady at all . It needs to be cleaned out or replace the part . Your lucky your car might also stall at the lights w/o pressing the throttle [:'(]

Lots of possiblities. I would guess at the stepper motor. Very common for this problem.
