Hi Forum!

I searched Jaguar Forums and could not find a answer i was looking for about the keyless entry remote for my 94 VDP. I got a remote yesterday programming was easy, but i notice if the press the button on the remote two times quickly it does not unlock the doors but just flashes the front headlights. My question is how many different functions does the remote control? Does this car have a panic mode that can be turned on by the remote?

 

Is this a factory remote or an after-market one?

On my 94 VDP I had to re-program mine (factory) when I changed the passenger door handle and lock barrel. Was a bit of a palaver but eventually got it working.

Somewhere in the sequence I recall seeing the same symptom a few times - I think the lights flashing like that meant the system was ready to accept reprogramming. I remember being a bit confused when I saw it so just went through the steps again, switching the toggle in the center console rapidly and eventually it worked so I left it alone!

It's been ok since except when I tested the retractable lamps in the rear pillars - as soon as I pulled one out of its housing all the alarms went off!! Had to start the car to shut it off. Needless to say I haven't been tempted to use the rear reading lights since!

 

Thanks for the reply, the remote i got is a Jaguar factory remote. I also (by mistake) set the alarm off after i finished programming the remote lol. I was in a garage, with the garage door down.......RIP ears!
