Need help I have been to 4 garages!
I purchased a 1989 Jaguar XJ6 and have done lots of fron end suspension work. The front drivers side tire has a slight lean into the motor. I have had the front end looked at for alignment but the tech states that there is no adjustment for the front tilt. I have replaced bushings, ball joints, control arm, ect. Let me know if you have any ideas for me.

You have a XJ-40.it sounds like a bent-something, though I almost refuse to believe there is no adjustment. My 1984 has every possible front-member adjustment for alignment purposes. Has the shock and shock mounts been checked? In my Service Manual, there is a section for the front suspension where it gives measurements and acceptable allowances & clearances. If my suspension components fall outside of those acceptable measurements, then the component in questionmust be replaced.
I suggest you purchase the Service & Parts Manual CD for your model range and study the front suspension section. The CDonly costs around $25. at any Jaguar dealer. It adds resale value to you and to any future owner of the car.
That reminds me of a very similar situation in 1998 when I was trying to get my A/C working. Took it to shop after shop after shop, and nobody could repair it.
I decided to attend Automotive A/C School and learn how to fix it myself. I spent 12 weeks learning about refrigeration in cars. After I graduated, I rebuiltthe systemand it has been working since. I'm not saying that you become a technician, but that you study the problem through the Service Manual and become informed. You will be more informed than the technician who is working your car.
last, register at www.jag-lovers.org and search their XJ-40 database, chances are someone else has had the same problem and chances are there is a documented fix for it.
good luck.
