Hi all ! My name is Will From Cleveland Oh . Just bought XJ12 1994 from an old buddy . Its been sitting in his garage for 2 years and wont start . I replaced the battery but it seems to have an electrical problem , maybe a security issue? I tried to search the forums but nothing helped any links would be appreciated .

Will,
Welcome to the forum. Does the engine crank at all?
Cheers,

Be aware that the original blue Hella relays were JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back in the 1990s, you cannot guess how many times cars came into the shop with the ECM or engine related relay inop or with faulty contacts.

My advise would be to change all the ECM, TCM, fuel pump, HO2 sensor and any other related relay with a suitable replacement. I have a box with DOZENS of old blue relays. I don't know why I kept them (I guess to remind me to check the blue relay before replacing any other components)

Here is an OLD TSB for info.

So, I'm wondering (because I don't know) if the XJ12s have an inertia switch the same as the XJ6s. If it were activated, you would get nothing - no cranking. The switch, if it is there at all, would be on the right hand side of the drivers footwell - sort of behind the fuse box.
