Negative/positive trigger (xj40)

hi guys

new to the forum with my 1990 4.0 litre sovereign.
i ve had to buy a new alarm for my 40, but cant seem to
find an answer to one issue. it unlocks and locks the car on arm and dis-arm, but i cant find something out.
can anyone tell me please, if the central locking on these cars, is
positive trigger
negative trigger
positive/negative trigger
if i ve read the book of lies correct, it looks like pos/neg
trigger to me, but i m not an auto electrician, so may well be
wrong!
