Question Passive seat belts/buckle

Hi all,

I am looking for XJ40 passive seat belt buckle, it means US specific (quite hard to find in Europe). Might be that I need the whole seat belt.

Issue is that the buckle has broken PRESS part, it's working but I don't want to wait until it will brake totally. Pls check the pictures.

The trim color code is AEE / Doeskin. Both seat belts has part number BEC22133XXX(right) or BEC22132XXX (left).

I will be shortly visiting USA this week so was thining to fetch them somewhere (mainly NY State, plus close around like NJ, PA, RI, MA, NH, CT).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot

Hi NaseSazky,

I don't recognize that buckle design. It doesn't resemble the buckles in my U.S. '88 nor my U.S. '93. Are you certain they were used in the U.S.? If so, it will be important to find parts for your specific model year (which is helpful information to mention here).

I assume you have checked the Marketplace here at the Jaguar Forums to see if one of our members has the parts you need.

Another idea would be to find a U.S.-based eBay seller who is parting out a car similar to yours and if they don't have the seat belts listed for sale, use the eBay messaging system to ask if the parts you need are available.

Given that you will be visiting relatively populous states, you may also be able to find a salvage yard with the parts you need, but it will take some research.

Cheers,

Don

Agree with Don, don't look like belts from North America but there again I'm not familiar with the attack belts ...

Hi Don and Larry,

thanks for your replies.

My XJ40 is MY1991, build 09/90 and is US specific Vanden plas. Passive/attack belts has been used somewhere from MY90 to MY92 (don't know exactly).

I found one on ebay; however thought I would source both from one car to be used similary (even I know driver one might be more used).

I tried to look here on the forum, as well on car-parts.com where are some but either outdated or out of reach.

Will continue with the search.
