Default Radio Exchange

I'm curious to know if a 93,94 Radio is a simple change on the 90. I know the controls are a bit different, I am wondering if it can just be plugged in. My station ID doesn't light up on my 90. I have access to plenty of 94's radio's.

Thank you!

Anytime , as I recall, you will have to enter radio code each time you switch on the radio after swapping

On my 90 VDP the radio has a harness coming out of the back of it. I have a radio from a 92 and it has sockets on the back of it. Looking into it, there wasn't a way to solder in the harness. My radio has a short on one speaker channel and some of the buttons don't work.

Good luck.

The 94 will not plug in straight away in my 90. I tried today. Mine has 2 connections on the right side. The 94 has just one center connection. Bummer. The bulbs in the 90 are weak, mostly all I have seen are blown. That is at least 4 cars already. You can't just replace the bulbs either, unless you can find them or get creative and solder new ones in.

I am surprised , they told me that was not a problem in my situation . I really used it later XJ40's radio w/o any problem other than that entering code . Later I sold the car as was
You can use it though considering some XJ40 Owners use different brands in their Jags .
