Default Rear Shocks

I have a 1992 XJ-6 Sovereign. I'm trying to figure out what kind of rear shocks I have.

They are;
KYB
Gas-A-Just
809 1122K

Are these the replacement shocks that removed the self leveling system

or

Are these the shocks for the self leveling system?

They appear to look more like struts than shocks as they appear to be a unit consisting of the mono tube style shock encased in a heavy duty spring. The shock or traveling portion of it appeared to have been originally wrapped in a big rubber boot/sleeve.

The car originally came with self leveling, but I don't see any wires, hoses, motors or anything else that would make the shocks or rear end self leveling.

Of course I've only had the car about a month now and it's my first Jaguar, so I'm fairly clueless.

I searched the following site, but it just raised more questions than it answered.

http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/199..._absorber.html

If I took a WAG I would say they used on of the conversion kits on the web site and they associated shocks that go with the kit, but I really have no clue.

A search of the web didn't find any results that matched that info.

These are really in need of replacement and I would like to order the new ones prior to starting the job so I can finish it without having to order parts or running back and forth to the parts store.

Scratching my head in Texas!

Thanks

Default Update

I was actually able to get in touch with the previous owner and he said that at the recommendation of his Jag mechanic he replaced the self leveling system with a KYB conversion kit.

So I now know I need to get a new conversion kit (KYB KIT109) and rear shocks (KYB KG9309)

I feel I might as well replace the springs. Does anyone know where to get correct springs for the car? I believe they are part number: JLM-11382

Thanks
