Default Right hand turning signal not always working.

Hi all, while I'm posting I may as well include this.
When I flick my right hand blinker on it sometimes works as it should, other times I need to put a little pressure up on the stalk to keep it working.
I'm guessing it may have a bit of corrosion at the point where the contacts meet and pushing up on the stalk is moving it past that point.
Any ideas?
It worked fine before and it only started recently, basically since she's been driven once a week for about half an hour at a time, which is why I am thinking of a dirty contact.
Any ideas before I pull the steering wheel off?

Cheers,

Steering wheel doesn't have to come off to get to the mechanisms.
Before that though, spray some contact cleaner, then a dielectric lubricant. (wd40 or the such)

Cheers for that.
Ended up pulling the wheel off and taking the mechanism out completely and pulled it apart. Nothing broken or worn so just cleaned and regreased.
Works fine now.
