Default Starter motor

Hi guys, I just replaced my starter motor and it was a marathon mission for something that seemed quite straight forward. I read the chapter in the Haynes manual and was horrified at the procedure. After checking out this forum I found a couple of posts that suggested removing the wiper motor, simple eh as I had removed it before, no problem. That top bolt on the starter was a cow! I could see it, touch it and get the spanner onto it but could not get leverage and the angle was making things worse. It did not matter what I tried I could not get it to crack and release. My little hands were too big, got the missing bark to prove it. I tried everything at my disposal including using a pipe over the spanner but I was worried about burring the head of the bolt or snapping it off. I finally tried interlocking one spanner into the 13mm spanner and with a lot of effort it cracked and released..my thanks to you all as I would have tried the Haynes way and god knows what a mess I would have ended up in.
