Clogged evaporator drains will allow condensate to build up inside the evap case...which will eventally overflow, usually when turning corners. With the car on a hoist you can see the drain tubes poking thru the floorboards on either side of the transmission, about where the engine and trans join together. Clear 'em with stiff wire, carefully poked into the tubes

Clogged intake plenum drains will allow rainwater into the heater/evaporator case with the same result. The drains are the rubber tubes on the firewall, one on either side of the engine...although the clog sometimes occurs further up, right at the plenum itself. You can (very gently) pry up the chrome air intake grill to inspect/clean. If you can do this without breaking the mounting pins, good for you. Some use string to lift the air intake grill up without breaking the pegs

Cheers

Welcome to the forum gooner,

Where next? Two places:

1. to check your drains as advised by Doug
2. to the New Member Area -Intro a MUST to introduce yourself and your car to all the members

Hope both issues get fixed.

Graham

Hello Gooner. A fix I carried out was to replace the narrow rubber tubes and the reducers with peices of clear plastic tubing. The size needs to be such that it just fits onto the evaporator drains. This will also be a tight fit through the tunnel arch. This means the problem is very unlikely to happen again. Cheers, Chris.
