My car started locking and unlocking in session about 6 times when i pushed the button once or turned the key in the door. I realized that the right front door would not move from the unlocked or locked position that it was in without me physically lifting or lowering the lock...I don't know if that is causing the weird locking and unlocking when I press the fob button.

Just wondering if anybody has heard of this happening before? I don't know if it is an electrical problem or a mechanical problem with the lock...but it's certainly a problem.

 

This is a guess, based upon other vehicle locking systems.
If the RF door power lock unit is bad (seized, shorted, whatever), the system MAY try to open (or close) numerous times to get the lock open.

 

I had a similar locking problem which was down to a bad door lock solenoid . You will have to replace the right front door soleniod

 

Is that something I need to take to a mechanic to get done, and is it expensive? Or is it something I can do on my own with a part from autozone?

 

A mechanic fixed out the problem for me , as for the price as I recall it was more than $120 as new
