Default Were XJ40's Hand Built?

Were the XJ40's considered to be hand built? I know there were some robotic machines involved in some of the assembly, still operated by humans.

If I recall, the XJ40 involved less "hand building" than previous generations. For example, I don't believe the body panels required lead filler and hand filing. But plenty of artful handcrafting was involved, especially on interior items like the wood veneer panels and leather upholstery, but also hand fitting of other parts, as can be seen in the old video Larry reposted in this thread:

must watch for XJ40 fans

Cheers,

Don
