I'm not sure where I saw that, or a similar thread... Like, using U-joints from a Volvo on Mk 2 and possibly other Jag models...

Now I'm looking to find locally available Brake disks and pads and also front shockabsorbers, that would fit my XJ40 1991 Vin 64xxxx.

Grateful for any suggestions...

Roland,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XJ40 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help with alternative parts.

Hi Roland,

I'm not aware of any brake disc and pad interchangeability with non-Jaguar models, but in the U.S., discs and pads for most Jaguars can be purchased at most chain auto parts stores. However, you may get better parts and prices from the major independent Jaguar specialists, such as forum sponsor SNG Barratt, who has offices in the U.K., France and Germany and offers discounts to Jaguar Forums members.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks Don!

I usually buy from Barratt and I've looked at Barrat, but couldn't find all the things I want in a kit (disc's and pads) and I also think the shipping cost to Sweden will cost nearly just as much as the parts, so therefore I thought that perhaps I could use other locally available parts...

Very often parts can be found on many different makes and models... One just has to find out which ones... :-)
