Default Xj40 colour question

Hello all. I'm a regular over on other sections of forum but now I have an xj40 to join the x300, series 2 & 3 etc. They are the rarest of jags here due to the culture of scrapping them at the earliest opportunity regardless of condition. I have rescued a lovely 1994 4 litre with low mileage in lovely condition from the scrapper but nearly every panel has lacquer peel. She is a metallic maroon and I'm wondering if there is a similar solid shade that I could get a quick respray in. That way I could avoid engine out etc for a quick freshen up and just use 2k solid paint without need for clear coat over base. The 2k paint would cost me E50, a lacquer kit and base coat about E300. I'll be painting her myself. Cheers JJ.

Sorry just to clarify, I know I can colour match basically any colour but did jaguar supply a non metallic maroon for this model so I can maintain some originality? Thanks again.

Firstly, I am No body or paint man. Second, I am not sure what paint colors were available. My thought is that if you are try to keep original looking should you not keep the metallic? I guess I don't think any solid color - even the same color- is going to compare to its metallic counterpart. I get that you're saving money doing it yourself. The Moneyfunnel is that metallic maroon. Its why I still have that car, Its an excellent color. I think if I changed it I could then get rid of it.
The Opinions expressed herein are exactly that. No intent should be construed.
Love, the Mgt.

Yeah I see your point but its quick cheap tidy up or scrapper and I'm not going to the effort and expense of clear over base or colour change so I'm gonna go solid maroon.
