This is the genuine JaguarSport part, that was a cost option on 91-94 XJR. Rare part though.

As far as I can see, that project has stalled though. Not completed yet?

It still answered a lot of questions I hadn't thought of though, so even if it has stalled it has been good input for me anyways.

Ok.
the main challenges are based around using the factory Engine management/ security set up. So people end up having to transfer the entire car loom to make it all work.

To reiterate, I am glad that another one was saved and will yet be enjoyed. But personally I think that particular spoiler needs to be more "blocky" to fit with the blocky design of the car. Personal opinion. No more, no less. I also think it should be a bit lower. Maybe trim the downward ends to fit and forego the wood that you have propped it up on? In the end though do what you want. It is yours. Have fun with it.

I have just purchased anoth 1988 XJ40, this one has a lot less to repair than the other 2 that I have, It has an additional bit of wiring under the bonnet, appears to be a part of the headlights, will lok at things in the morning in more detail.

I know pictures are somewhat decieving in what they don't show, but this one looks in better condition than the green one I am currently working on.

I am glad it has a complete interior.

This one seems to have the SLS removed, and a little bit of wiring has been cut, Iwill need to see what they were for before removing them completely.

Yes I think it is the better one of the three.

The previous owners attempt at fixing the rust in the boot. It certainly came out a lot easier than I thought it would.

I have a fair bit more rust to get rid of, but it isn't as bad as it first looked.

New floor all welded into place, rather happy with my prgress for now, I have no shed to work in and we have had about 3 weeks of rain. Just enough to keep me away from the car anyway.

This was the rusted section of the floor in the boot, the picture makes it look nowhere near as bad as it really was, I am glad I cut it all out.

Well I have taken the sunroof out of the car and sent the hood lining away to be recovered in felt along with the sunroof inside panel, hopefully they will be done soon, then I had better get myself into gear and be ready to pain this thing, it will be done in a Jaguar racing green from the 2021 colour chart, I think the paint code is HIM.

I have to take advantage of the fine weather whilst I can. Slowly getting there.

Starting to remake the tail light surrounds.

Just need to weld these in place and start on the next part of the exersize.

That bit is almost welded now.

I am just about done for today, the sun is going down and moisture is in the air, so pack up time now.

Welded up and filler put in place, reshaping things tomorrow.

Just about ready for the next stage.

I have never been a fan of electric antenna's, so I will be using a sharkfin instead.

Nice work. It’s really coming along now.
These cars really need people like you who can tackle all these big jobs. That usually get ignored.

Well I started to sand the bootlid down, I had a little black spot I needed to sand away and maybe even have to fill it. Anyway I got to sanding the corner only to find there were more paint jobs done than I imagined, and things are not sticking too well after the silver on the yellow, after that it keeps chipping along the edge, so trying to decide if I should just strip it right back and start fresh or keep sanding the bootlid.

I get the feeling this bootlid has been painted before, it is like a tree, a ring for every year it has existed.
