Default 12V +A to +B firewall posts

So I was working on removing the Delanaire out of the car and took a look at the cross wire linking the 2 + positive posts.
It looked ok, (not chafed or cracked) but once removed and bent it crumbled.
I see this cable as a big potential for an electrical fire. It is well protected behind the asbestos fire shield yet it won’t take much for it to get in contact with bare metal. I removed it and linked a new cable internally.

anyone else sees or have experienced an issue with this 50 year old hot battery bus cable ?
wont mention the corrosion and resistance produced by it to get to post B.. another source of issues.

Did you check the bulkhead pass-throughs too? I replaced both the cable and the bulkhead pass-throughs. If either of those fail and you don't quickly cut the battery power, you're going to be having a bad day.
