Default 1975 XJ12C Manual Transmission ( gear box ) Conversion

Yes, I finally acquired my favourite Jaguar... XJ12C in British Racing Green.
The fellow I bought it from ( 3 months ago ), had removed the engine / transmission, to do a conversion to 5 speed manual. I'm a stick shift driver, so this plan will definitely be seen to completion !

So far, what I HAVE sourced, is the clutch pedal kit ( reproduction ), the clutch and pressure plate I will use, and at the moment, to save on initial cash outlay, a Borg Warner Super T10 4 speed, which I have on hand. It is GM configuration, 26 spline input ( the rather costly T5 that I will ultimately change to, is the same fitment ).

What I DO NOT have, is a flywheel, and bellhousing.
Would somebody be able to direct me to a source for these items ?

Nice car Aubrey!! I've been doing a lot of research to convert my 1975 XJ6C to manual and found out that the standard moss box 4 speed was offered. Basically the same as an E-Type. So come to find out that a manual was not offered for the 12 whilst looking around for you. But if whats good for the goose is good for the gander, then the E-Type manual should bolt in. Should!
For my application I've decided on the conversion kit offered by The Driven Man. A 5 speed bolt in that you can order with specific gear ratios. They do offer a V12 5 speed for An E-Type, sooooo....here's the link;

Or call The Driven Man @ (931) 646-4836

I just saw this..... Craigslist

1972 Jaguar XKE, V-12 ,4 speed manual transmission, KL5468 Dec. 1972 production

item #
225904071334
I'm thinking because of the weird throw out arm and slave cylinder location, space might be a problem for the xj.... imho

Thank YOU for the reply !
A stock 4 speed is FAR too costly and difficult to locate for the limited benefit it would provide ( with the 3.31 rear gear ratio, overdrive in top gear is essential ).
I think I have the transmission sorted out.
However, it seems that the bellhousing and aluminum flywheel is still a pretty well kept secret !
I will try "The Driven Man", though I believe I HAVE spoke to him before, and he was having great difficulty in getting the housings cast ( OOOOH, do I KNOW about that problem ! )

Looks like Summit has a variety of bell housings for the Borg Warner T10, so you'll most likely need an adapter plate which Vintage Jag Works shows. Or try John's cars; https://www.johnscars.com/qb/v12qb.html.
The lightened flywheel is at SC; https://www.scparts.co.uk/en/flywheel/486582/
E-Bay has the flywheel for big$$$....
Have fun!!!
