I’ve recently acquired a 1975 XJ6C. It has had a few modifications over the years. The interior is a medium blue cloth with white piping. Very 1976 and in a word, hideous. I’ve obtained a 1984 XJ6 and the front seats work and I am working on the rear seats. The Coupe seems a bit narrower.
My question. Were these seats original? Did Jaguar ever offer cloth seats in 1975?
Monza for other markets cloth was offered on some cars although we have not seen contrasting piping in that period. If your car is a US market car it would have been leather.
I am by no means an authority on this subject, but I believe it would depend on the market that car was intended for, I nabbed the seats out of a Canadian spec jag, they are velour! Was also a bit odd seeing a series 3 with no sunroof....
"... 1984 XJ6 and the front seats work..." How are you getting the '84 seats to drop forward? Most of us 'coupe-heads' thought we were limited to Frankensteining XJS seats if we wanted other Jag front seats. Or are you transplanting cushions?
