Default 1977 Daimler V12 recent purchase

I recently purchased a 1977 with this V12

Are there any critical items i need to replace? I will first address the fuel hoses and clamps.

Welcome to the Forums.

Lots of "Stickies" at the top of the XJS Section, one down from this one, as that is wjare most of the V12's hang out.

The PreHE is solid and reliable, luvs the fuel, etc etc. Should have the TH400 trans for that year of build date.

Its a D Jetronic Analogue EFI system, as basic as it comes.

The Opus Ignition is a problem, most have been outed for a Crane system long time ago.

Coolant hoses, ALL OF THEM, will be peace of mind for sure.

Our 1976 XJ12 Jag is topping 800K kms, and still has the basic engine untouched. Bolt on stuff, not so original, its a car, what else is new.
3rd alternator, 2nd trans (BW12), 2nd steer pump, Sanden A/C Comp (years ago), 4th jheater tap, Efans (1994) (best thing ever),

Good info. Thanks. I plan on keeping it original. Of course some improvements might be a wise idea
I am not sure what ignition I have. I’ll take a look.
E fans are on my list… originality or reliability…. I’ll drive it 500 miles a year max
