1983 XJ6 Fuel Pump Replacement
I’m looking to replace the fuel pump on my XJ 6 but I’m struggling to find and material on how to properly replace the part. I was hoping to get a lesson in doing so, or to be led in the direction of some proper instructions, it would be very helpful. Thank you in advance!
it is very easy and logical.
disconnect the battery.
remove all the floor carpet, the panels, and spare tire from the trunk, remove everything.
get an old towel and rubber gloves.
disconnect the two cables from the pump.
undo the nuts and bracket holding the pump,
disconnect the fuel lines at the pump protecting the floor and hands from any fuel spilling, with the towel and gloves.
transfer the foam isolator and bracket to the new pump.
replace new pump with bracket to the floor mounting, tighten nuts.
reconnect fuel lines and wires.
reconnect battery
restart engine.
check for any leak.
reassemble trunk panels, everything else that was removed.
