Exclamation XJ6 1974 4.2 Litre Fuel Pump replacement

Has anyone had any good luck with finding a cheap Fuel Pump replacement for the XJ6 Jag? If so, where did you buy it from/ model/ brand etc would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Firstly welcome to the Forums.

When the Jag is sorted, please do an Intro in the New Members Area.

Is the pump you seek outside the fuel tank, or inside??.

1974 should be external, but the question must be asked.

Waterloo is where in the world????, so part numbers related to your area can be given, to save a lot of confusion.

The Pump (2) is external in the Boot. (Tyre Well).
Waterloo (Postcode 2017) is in the Inner City of Sydney in New South Wales.

AHA that Waterloo, clear as mud now.

I will go and dig out the "old" parts book and come back with some part numbers for you.

OK, just as I thought, but I needed to reactivate the brain cells.

The external pump/s on the Carby cars are unique to SU.

The internal, on thelater carbied S2 cars is available from Goss.

I have used these people for a very long time.

I dont know of an alternative for that pump, but that is NOT to say there isnt one.

Waterloo???

Ah, yes. The famed one in the lives of Napoleon and the Duke of Wellington???

Or, please excuse the bad humour, 'a place to relieve nature's needs".

A words from the wise in many ways! Not necessarily mine!

Cheap can be expensive....
