RE: 1987 XJ6 questions.
Brewtech,it will take sometime to learnthe tricks, I've been at it for the last 17 years and I am still learning...
Startreading the FAQin this forum (established thanks to moderators '93xj6' and 'Jim'), which point you to several sites with great information;
First step: order a Service and Parts Manual CD, the link is also in the FAQ.Veryimportant 'tool' to have on Sundays.
1) theSeries 3 XJhavelots of modern General Motors parts in them, so there are cross-references for those. ( I posted a XJ Parts Interchange website in the FAQ ). Those parts are available at most autoparts stores.You won't have to go to the Jaguar dealer.
2) you can get any part for them online, there'sa huge parts supply, prices are not high and though it pays to shop around, sometimes it's better to stick with establishedand experienced businesses, some of which are Sponsors here.
Also eBay, but watch out!
3) if your first question is about how to remove the Headliner fiberglass form, it will come out through the Front passenger door if you fully recline the front seats, or better yet, remove the seatsfrom the car for comfort while working.
Piece of Pumpkin Puddin'. To get the right material, there are 3,well-known Jaguar interior suppliers in the US.
If there are any problems with your car that you want to take care of, well, let us know to see if we can help here.
