1993 xj6 sov wont go in park

1993 xj6 sov wont go in park
for some reason i cant get it to go in park and it is currently sittin in neutral with key in it..has anybody ever heard os this happening? maybe a solution?

Firstly you are NEW, so welcome aboard.
Your '93 XJ6 is what is known as an XJ40 in Jaguar talk.
The cars here are the previous generation.
I suggest a repost in the XJ40 area for the quickest responses to your issue.
My first thought is the "interlock" solenoid is somehow not allowing the lever to return to P.
