1996 XJ6 VDP - battery drain, ignition

hi Karen, this forum is for the XJ-6 from 1968 to 1987, you have a X300.
I've heard of that problem before but I have no clue what causes it. Ignition switches do wear out, especially in the newer Jags. Check that nothing is staying ON, like the trunk light, or door lights. Might be something as simple as a door light switch.
ask at the X300 forum. Go to the top of the page, left side where it says FORUMS, and select the forum for your car / year.
buy a nice cared-for Series 3 XJ-6 (1983-1987) and you won't have half those problems, but you will have others, as with any other car.
