Default 74 series 2 starter replacement

The original starter finally packed it in last week so I had to replace it... this is the first car I've done this job on where leaving the cables attached was the best procedure, since access beneath the carbs was tight at best. also, this was a job made somewhat easier by Jaguar having left just enough room around the rear carb to maneuver the starter up and out of the bay.... for several months I'd been using the VERY tired original starter and the new one whipped the motor over like a muleskinner! I'm not used to such items growing "old and tired", just outright failing. Starting the old girl isn't a "cross my fingers" job anymore!

Congratulations!!!

A couple of years ago, the starter in my 4.0 6 powered Jeep conked out.
Not much warning, but it was there and I failed to recognize it. Away from home and in a shopping mall, it refused to crank. A whack ort two and I got a last crank outta it. Replacement not that bad. Similar con figuration to a Jaguar unit, but much smaller and lighter. Much welcomed. My shoulders and arms ain't what they used to be.

Jaguar:

At the end of last year, I had major trouble with starters on it's LT1.
A combination of flaws. I've forgotten how many starters I swapped in and out. At last resolved. Cranks, oh so nice...
