84 XJ6 Timing Chain Question
The head removal continues apace, and I am finally getting close to trying to get the !$%#$&^ thing off the block. I have the cam covers off, and I'm getting ready to slacken the timing chain to disconnect the sprockets.
I loosened the nut on the serrated plate, and was able to get the pin depressed to be flush with the plate with a couple whacks. I can't get the plate to turn, however. Am I going to need the tensioning tool at this point as well as later when I retighten the chain? If so, where is a good place to pick one up.
Thanks!

Most Jaguar specialists should have the adjuster tools, they don't cost much. If you can't move the disc, take the nut off and try tapping lightly with a small hammer. The adjuster will seize up after the car has been standing for many years; it had on a 2.4 Mark 2 I rebuilt in the 80s.
