i may be an idiot but how do you remove these hose connections?

Follow the rusty metal pipe to the fitting on the oil cooler. The rubber hose is crimped to the metal pipe.

Okay thank you I will do this, any way to remove it from the oil filter housing?

The oil cooler pipes are secured to the oil filter housing with a plate and nut on a threaded stud. Remove the nut and plate to withdraw the pipes and o-rings from the oil filter housing.

I must be an idiot too because I have no clue. But that is why I have a spare oil cooler with good hoses still attached.
