Default 88 xj6 booster failure

OK fellow forum goers.. I did a break booster conversion from the hydraulic to a vacuum system on my 88 xj6. It calls for a booster off of an 80-86 xj6. My question here would be does anyone know if there are interchangeable boosters from any other vehicles that would fit those year xj6's..

Any booster from 1973 up will suffice. Maybe even S1, which are 1969 to about 1973 may do, but I am not real familiar with S1 stuff.

The XJ-S booster,1976 to about 1987ish, will also do the job.

The later X300 booster will also do the same.

OK when you say ANY booster are you referring to ones that are not of jaguar make.. Such as a Chevy, Toyota, Mazda, ect..? In the kit I used it called for an 80 thru 86 xj6 booster. Not the easiest for me to find in good shape out here..

Not sure where "out here is"?.

Any booster can be made to fit, BUT, has it got the OOMPH to apply all those pistons in the calipers so as to stop the beast?.

When I did a few of those conversion a very long time ago, I found S2 and S3 boosters, and had them rebuilt, just for safeties sake, and never looked back.

XJ6 or XJ12, same booster.

If you want to fit some other make booster, you will be treading that path yourself I reckon. A GOOD brake specialist that rebuilds these things will have the "boost" specifications, and that would be the first chart I would be reading.

Then the related master cylinder displacement chart would be the second, BUT if you are using the Jag master cylinder, that chart is a dead end obviously.

Landcruiser boosters "look" similar, but the boost pressures etc are unknown to me. The smaller Jap stuff mentioned would NOT have the OOMPH to stop the Jag in MY opinion,
