'88 XJ6, NEW JAG Owner, speedo doesn't work
Hey everyone,
SO with this new ride I recently picked up, amonst the things I noticed that didn't work was the speedo. The fellow that i purchased it from said it was a wire in the trunk. After pulling a back panel off (which didn't appear to be a stock piece) the wire he had pointed to seems to run to what looks like the fuel tank? Where can I start tracing to fix this problem? This wire he was referring to seems inaccurate to me, however, as a new Jag owner, and new to Jag as well, I just wanted to be sure.
Thanks guys.

Forgive me for wondering, but did he also try to sell you some ocean fron property in Nevada? Sounds like he just pointed at some random wire and claimed that was the culprit. In addition, while not an expert, a '88 Jaguar XJ6 may not be a Series 1, 2 or 3, so most folks in this forum section may not be inclined to help you, or be equipped to help you diagnose this problem. Perhaps another forum section that deals specifically with your year/model? And, heck, maybe try changing out the speedometer? Just my thoughts... Good luck.
