Aye, a breather at times is good. Opportunity to think and plan as well. I think you may have the latter well in hand.

Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to all...

Doing things in a particular order is the smart way to go. As you say, it prevents mounting something in a good looking spot, only to find that another item used to be there. That is very frustrating. I have done something on mine every day since February and, at times, feel it might never get on the road. "Baby steps" will get the job done.

I have been working on wiring related stuff for about 6 weeks now and that has been the most challenging project so far. Hang in there.

My '83 XJ6 LS1 swap has been "in progress" (haha) for 2.5 years. I feel your pain.

I managed to get motor in over the weekend... This is a Young mans game!! Everything hurts this morning!!! Lol
only took a couple.of hours, but doing it alone is a lot of up and down, under car, on top, back under, back on top, I swear I walked at least 3 miles just in the few feet between the front bumper and the spot where the trans crossmember is!!!

Oh, what fond memories of the times that I could and did the routine..

Darren. That picture recalls that stage in my installation. But, you are making great progress.
Look forward to the time you twist the key and are greeted by 8 happy cylinders sans any exhaust...

I have been slowly plugging along on this, I'm in no real rush, just an hour here and there, especially with the wiring, too much soldering, for my eyes, even with readers on everything gets blurry after 20 mins or so.. anyway, shes almost done, under the hood all that's left is to reconnect the trans cooler lines ( waiting on 5/16 compression fittings) mount the pcm somewhere permanent, and hook up battery, inside the car I have one more wire to hook up, but the old cruise interupt switch on pedal is defective and I'm trying to locate another. So I can hook up the tcc wire.
I even had the hood back on already.. once shes running ( hopefully next weekend) ( installing new front door on house this weekend) it's off to exhaust shop..

You are itching to fire it, yes!!! We join you there.

David Boger can come up with a good cruise interrupt switch for you. Check jaguar specialties web site for how to use a relay to deal with the TCC. I forgot the detail.

Aye, I recall the solder wire marathon. Learned a lot and improved my tools and skill there.

Id errands in my lump the day before yesterday. It purred...

Yesterday, good and not so much. Got my regular eye injection. prelims worse than the event!!! Expected scratchiness much less this go around. Rewarded. Lunch in the VA canteen. Chille relleno. Well executed. Green sauce just the right amount of heat. ..toasted corn and cheesed tomatoe. I complimented the Chef…

Ron;

Aye on both. Not that close, but within the same year. don't recall smashing stuff, but sure was a big difference… Good enough o pass the DMV vision requirement. I opted to be far sighted. Not use bifocals and rely on readers for close stuff. Therefore maximum use of the corrective feature in my glasses. Alas, not a good enough fix to not need specs. But, I am pleased. Much brighter and clearer.

Darren:

Going good. That days is not that far away...

Going to go drive mine..

Carl,

Just about ready, got my.front door hung yesterday, so today I went in garage, got everything ready, battery is charged, all hoses hooked up and rechecked for tightness, coolant added, car dropped to ground, adjusted trans cable to make sure park was actually park! ( it wasnt, car started rolling when I dropped it, only went a few feet, but far enough to be a pain in the butt to push back into garage!) .
OK here we go...... hold on.... Damn, forgot to buy transmission fluid!!!
had a few beers whilst working so no go on picking some up! Maybe tomorrow after work... oh well! Such is life!

Absolutely. adult liquid fuel is a requirement.

I used my then other car, my F150 to nudge the jag into the garage, when it was "powerless"!!!

Alas, the engine ran. But, it would not move!!!!! Son and I got it up on jack stands to remove the trans. SOG !!! The recycle place that I got the package from had mated a transmission from another car. but no bolts for the torque converter to the flex plate!!!!! Amazing???

A trip to the NAPA store sourced some to fit. Odd, only three used??? mated, tested, still up on stands. Eureka, the wheels turn!! We put it on the ground and took a victory lap around the block... .

Just tried to start it.. no go..
Could be one of a couple things, new engine is too tight for old starter, starter is going out ( kinda same thing ing as first) or battery charger is on the blink, all I got was a couple of whirs them just clicks and very dim lights, hoping its the charger have another one hooked up now, gotta start with the simple stuff!

I played again before work this morning, battery was just low, however something is amiss. I have no check engine light and no fuel pump prime, I have either missed a hot wire somewhere or a ground... just gotta do some digging. I will find it!!

The "hot" for the GM stuff is purple and green as I recall? Might check your GM schematic to identify it and see that it is fed.

With the key in run, check the GM ignition module on the front of the left head for volts.

If your battery charger, bit the dust, visit the local parts joint or on line for a Schumacher smart charger. I am very pleased by mine.,

I am not in front of my pc but I want to say there are 6 hots feeding the pcm and I think 5 grounds, just got the answer on ltxtech that the pcm. Ground is down by starter, I remember installing it as it was one of last things I did, but didnt have any bolts left to put it back where it belonged so i put it on an oil pan bolt, thinking that may be my problem, will look when I get home if it's still light!

Found that issue, bad power wore, 12 volts about Antioch away from connector and 3 volts inside connection.. fixed that, how ses light comes on for bulb test and fuel pump primes. However now I have no Injector pulse width.. more.digging to do!
