Abrupt Sudden Engine Sputter, XJ6 4.2 1985
There is an Abrupt Sudden Engine Sputter on my XJ6 4.2 1985, 135k miles.
It happens occasionally, for a brief time like a second and continues running.
Could call it a sudden choke.
Does this sound like water in the gas, or what should I look into?
I noticed it first while idleing to warm up the car when the rpm dropped suddenly. Since then it happens every few minutes while on the road.
The car was running fine up to then.
Everything has been replaced on the temp rail and new fuel regulator.
Thx in advance.

I'd start by checking/cleaning/tightening electrical connections at:
-the "main" and "fuel pump" relays and red diode pack at the firewall
-the bundle of ground wires at the rear of the water rail
-the injector ballast, right inner fender, across from p/steering pump
-the coolant temp snesor on the water rail
Also, remove the driver's side under-dash panel and gently wigglr the the electrical portion and wires of the ignition switch. If the engine cuts out, you've got a bad switch
Cheers
