1977 xj6c 4.2 you guys have been really helping me a lot lately. thank you.
todays question: Where does the thin green wire on the back of the alternator go??
my official wiring diagram does not show a second wire.

On all mine, including the V12's, that is the Ignition exciter wire.
It comes from the Ign switch circuit, via the Ign bulb, and then the alternator.
It should have 12v with the Ign ON, and the Ign bulb ON.
