Default Another Wheel Thread

Hi All,
Can anyone confirm whether the XJS Starfish type wheels will fit on an 85 XJ6 S3? Will the standard lugnuts work ok with these wheels? I don't really like the look of the Pepperpot mags and think the XJS Starfish type mags will look smarter.

I can't recall if the Pepperpots used a different lugnut. I think they used the same lugnut as the Kent wheel and I know the lugnuts for the Kents will work with the Starfish. I'm 98% sure that you'll be OK here.

Someone with a better memory will chime in, I reckon

Cheers

I swapped from Kent to Starfish style on an ‘84 SIII with no issues. I used the Kent lug nuts on the starfish and they fit fine. I think Doug is right that the pepperpot wheels used the same style nut as the Kent. The shaft, not the threaded portion, of starfish wheel nuts were longer, maybe because of the deeper design of the holes in the starfish. But I didn’t have any issues wrenching the shorter ones on and off the starfish wheels. The starfish wheels are 1/2” wider than Kent and Pepperpot wheels. They looked good with a set of 225/60R15 tires.

here’s a photo showing the different styles.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone. I'm going to look at a set of Starfish mags hopefully today. Just wanted to be sure that they would fit before pulling the trigger.

Here's the pictures I posted on my thread about the new Maxilite Kent rims and issues with lug nut sizes.
Don't forget to post pictures with your new mags if you get them !

Lug nut variety

Chart with actual dimensions

Hope this is helpful !

Thanks Brian, I've got a feeling someone else has beat me to them. Not heard from the seller since I sms'd him about having a look. Maybe a while before I get to fit them. I took the car to the mechanic a year ago because he was struggling for work when CoVid hit and I thought it would at least give him some work when things got really quiet then everyone must have seen that XJ6 in his driveway and started giving him lots and lots of work and since I said work on it when you can its still waiting to be worked on. I am looking forward to getting it back soon. Probably could have sorted it myself by now.
