Battery light
Hi all
A few days ago I noticed my battery light was staying on, sometimes taking a while to go out, the intensity of the light seemed to vary with engine rpm, at low idle in gear the light would barely glow, above 1500 rpm it would be on full bright, now it doesn't seem to vary as much, but she's charging just fine, any ideas?
I've read that this can point to diodes... But I'm new to this field, any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

The usual (but perhaps not only) tell-tale of diode failure is the battery light staying on 24/7....even with the ignition off and key out of the ignition.
On general principle I'd check battery connections, connections at the firewall "+" junction post, and the connectors and wiring originating from the rear of the alternator ...but I sense an alternator overhaul in your future.
Cheers

Thanks Doug. If the ignition is off then the light goes out, but stays on while the ignition is on at all times, with varying intensity according to the rpm. She also seems to have gained about a volt on the battery gauge while driving. Anything more I can check? Other than that, everything is well.
