Also remember that any silicon contamination on paintwork will cause pits on any new paintwork. We banned our office cleaners from using spray silicon furniture polishes because the overspray entered the air conditioning system and caused mayhem in the paint-spray booths!

Can you rephrase that? Silicone should not damage paintwork, but its hard to remove and definitely will cause fish eyes. Is that what you mean?

Silicon will not affect cured paint, but try to paint over a silicon contaminated surface and craters in the paint are the result!
