Default Two bad door locking mechanisms

I have a couple doors that are not locking with the automatic door locks and need to replace the hardware. I understand this a common issue with S Types...and someone advised not to buy a salvaged part - as of course the salvaged part is near likely to have the same issue.

Makes sense, but is the same true for the OEM part? Is this a scenario where aftermarket might be the way to go?

There are no aftermarket door locks available.

You have a choice of 2nd hand or new from Jaguar.

It's not a common issue but has been reported a few times.

Mainly because it's a tough repair. Especially if the door gets stuck closed and locked. Someone had to get the door open first and then repair the lock. That was a lot of fun!!
