Subscribing to this thread. I tried to figure this out last night but came up with nothing. This will be like the time I learned what a rimbellisher was.

Google "barrel clips" or "Emblem Clips" and you'll have lots to choose from, such as:

you can also use screw anchors of the proper pin size.

Yeah, I think I was on the MKII board when someone used the word rimbellisher. I always called them wheel trim rings and had never heard of the term rimbellisher before.

That is called a Friction Bush. Part BD25669 for the "Jaguar" emblem or BD25689 for the XJ6 or Double Six badges. Different badges have different retainers. Here is the one for the Jaguar emblem: https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#...6-8b68f7de11ea

When you called it a socket I was thinking it was something electrical. Similarly, a decal is something thin that might get applied to a model train or airplane, I wasn't thinking of the exterior badges of the car.

i don't find many that are plastic sockets of sorts, most seem to be metal clips with heads that are not flush. is it a cass of substitution as they dont make anything like the originals now.?
