I have a 1985 xj6. The AC and heat are functional, but the controller works sporadically. I have heard that there exists a replacement that resembles looks like a shotgun shell and plugs into the existing connection wires. Has anyone ever heard of or knows where to find this part?

 

yes, you are talking about the Amplifier, I think the replacement was invented in Australia. Get it at John's Cars in Dallas: (they don't show it in the website).
