CURIOUS:1985 Series 3 Ride height
Thanks Doug. Is there a similar measurement at the rear or is is measured at the front and set up level? I would like to check mine as it has been upgraded (or messed with depending on your perspective) at some stage.
From memory, I seem to recall the SIII owner's handbook or maintenance handbook has a recommended minimum rear ride height taken from the ground to the bottom of the tie plate. I can't recall what it was, maybe around 7.5". I'll see if I can find it.
found a recommendation for rear suspension height at chapter 64.25.12 of the Service manual akm9006.
With coolant, oil and fuel all topped up: measure distance between lower surface of rear cross member and the ground at both sides of the car. Should be 7.45" + or - 0.25".

As I always suspected! Nix has been lowered! By a full 2 inches!
Either that or her springs have sagged on both ends, which would surprise me as I was told at the time of purchase that the 350 V8 weighed some hundreds pounds less than the XK engine, but whatever the cause, I rather Like It!
