Default Differential vent

Nothing to do with the seal I posted!!! Lol. Somewhere between my garage and the shop that did the rehearing, my diff vent is gone! Of course finding and ordering another means more waiting!! Rear endnis ready to go back in car, but gotta do some about the vent first, ain’t much room once it’s in the car!!! Anyone done anything different like a simple fitting and a hose long enough to keep dirt and water out???

I think you're on the right track. I have done something like that in the past. I'm not sure of the thread size in the cover, if SAE maybe 1/4" pipe and if METRIC, I don't know. A hose barb fitting with length of hose would work very well, but don't leave it open, you don't want dust/dirt to get in the diff. I used a small fuel filter (lawn mower, etc) plugged into the end, very efficient. One time my fix was a piece of open-cell foam with a hole carved part-way through it and slid over the breather hose, a small ty-rap to hold it in place. Work well, just not quite as waterproof.

YUP! A fitting an a hose that is tall enough to keep eater away is fine. Off roaders do that regularly. A devicxe sucvh as a filter at the end is icing on the cake.

Put a loop into the hose as well, held with a couple of cable ties. That has worked for me perfectly.
