Default DPDT PTS

DPDT rocker switches can entirely screw the brain trying to figure. The old 1974 rocker switch with its 6 pins works but the generic replacement has me confused as hell, I can get windows going up or down by re-patching the four critical cables (two from/to solenoid in door and two assume are power).
I havent even tried to get my head around Mr Lucas's old switch, but the new one is fairly basic I would have thought, however I think I have figured out that pressed one way pins 2/3a and 2/3b are active while pushed the other way same again plus 1/2b and 1/2a active. In my head that doesn't seem right. Its a momentary switch and I assume needs to change the polarity without the need to re-patch, but the terminals don't make sense entirely to me.......

Good on ya.

I tried the generic a very LONG time ago for that window fiasco, and 4 bottles of JD later I sourced 6 NEW Jaguar window switches, and never looked back.

The Prince of Darkness really triumphed with that nonsense. the "thru passage" is the hard one to follow, and then the Drivers window switch being the "master" just messes with brain celss more than the JD.

it takes nerve to wade through the rivers of LUCAS SPAGHETTI WIRE.
the words over complex and redundant come to mind. i finally figured the generic switch today, my notes look like Einstein's workings but my outcome so much less profound.
and I got it to work in the car on each window. So i might just entirely rewire the beast for kicks. A process of deLucasfication..
really is Spaghetti..

The Prince will turn in his grave, coz you actually got something to work without his bits involved.

Well done.
