I have seen some silly prices for old XJ6 models, but this one takes the cake! For along time on a prominent Australian listing someone was asking AU$49,000 for a series 1 on gas that was in no way a concourse car. This dreamer exceeds that car's owner by a good way.
The other question is how is this car on Historic plates? In the state of NSW the car has to be very original to get these plates.

In VIC where the car is registered the car shouldnt have significant modifications. So it looks like the car has been club registered, and then heavily modified. Somewhere along the line somebody in the chain is being shonky, its a bit stupid really because there is a modified historic category (my car with a 350 is in that) and there is also street rod registration. A H plate car with stuff through the bonnet is police bait eventually. Having said all that there are plenty of drag racing videos of 90 Commodores and Falcons pulling 8 and 9 sec qtr miles, complete with parachute and H Plates (left over decor I hope)
I think he would be better off selling the car and the engine as separate units. He would probably get decent money for each, I can easily see good $ for a well prepped blown 350 and good money for a pristine rolling body with a clean interior. Clarkes estimate probably closer to reality for the whole car. Sadly he has over capitalised , which is fine if you love it and want to keep it, but others probably wont see the value unless he finds that one special buyer :-)
Not a fan of lumps but they have their purpose. A lower profile induction system would have been the way to go; that hole in the bonnet ruins the lines. And the price is in crack-pipe territory.
