Default Electric mirror controls

My controls were loosely hanging around and one of them was in the door. I decided to make it at least look right and put them where they were supposed to go, bought a set screw at Ace Hardware to hold one of them in, and THEY WORK!! So awesome, these are wonderfull cars.

My mirror controller toggle thingy (technical term) is broken on my '82.

I assume someone sells these as well?

True, they are wonderful cars. Say hi to Walter from Tabor, his twin.

another rebuidable-on-the-kitchen-table switch!

but if you don't want to bother, you can get a used switch assembly at eBay. I've bought 2 for spares. cheaper than new.

Ill do that. I assumed my were broken by the way they hung loose, imagine my surprise when I found they were 100 percent. I assume you have tried to use them? I really have to apply pressure to them to get them to respond, my 5 yr old girl cant operate them because she doesnt push hard enough.

Default my 82 xj6 issues

Yeah, the former owner must have used too much pressure and broke the toggle lever completely off.

This cat has a slug of minor defects like that, including but not limited to: missing cable on the glove box door (this caused the door to open too far and break some of the hard plastic coating off the corner of the dash), sunroof gear slipping, missing drivers side interior light cover, antenna is broken off, tape player works sometimes, headliner sagging, passenger door lock doesn't work, passenger side fuel tank is still nasty, small dent in passenger side fender on top by the headlamp, minor rust on fender, surface scratches, blinkers don't work, exhaust leaks under rear seat, one left rear shock is shot, right front shock needs new bushings, you know the usual piddly stuff that requires only a little attention to fix-nothing major.

The good news is that with only 32,800 original miles on it, the leather is like new, the undercarriage is mint and she runs like a top with no gauge issues or other driveability hindrances.

on the Blinkers:

I have instructions with pictures on rebuilding the turn signals Stalk Switch once it has been removed from the car. Removing the Stalk Switch requires another set of very precise factory instructions which should be followed!

So whenever you are ready to tackle the job, I will provide the instructions. You will need a .PDF file Reader, like "Foxit Reader", which is free download.
