Electrical issue!
1993 XJ6 Vanden Plas (New member and couldn't find the 1993 XJ6 forum!). Car runs well and on occasion will die without warning. When I pull the "Fuse Failure Link" fuse located on the left side (drivers side for U.S.), fuse location is A3 with a 3 amp fuse and reinstall it, the car restarts with no problem. The fuse is not blown. Just pulling it and reinstalling it takes care of whatever is being "reset".

If your car is a 1993 XJ6 it is an XJ40, so you should post in the forum for that model, also called the XJ81. For the Series 3 cars on this forum, only the V12 was made until 1993, the XJ6 Series 3 finished in 1986 and was replaced by the "squared-off" XJ40 series. Jaguar love to confuse everybody by using the same name for a totally different car !

I know everyone will roll their eyes but this is a nit I can't resist picking......over and over again Even some of Jaguar's own literature gets this wrong.
The Series III XJ6 production continued right until April 1987 !
The last example was kept by Jaguar. The second-to-last was sent to Los Angeles in May 1987
Carry on
Cheers

Jaguar loves to confuse nomenclature. Just look at the F-Type designations from 2014 to 2022….what is essentially the same body/engine car can have several different designations. Crazy-making even for die-hard Jaguar addicts!
