Is there a strict rule when putting the window seal rubber in place as to where the 'join' that connect the seal together should sit? top of window or down beside the wiper bay? it seems to loosely go either way so wondered if there was an accepted convention.

 

I put mine at the top center of the windscreen. No chance of water "sitting" on the split.
