Trying to source a new fuel pump for a 1983 Jag xj6 VDP. It seems there are two versions of the pump (bosch 69536) with different terminal styles on each. The version I need has the flat connector type shown below. Unfortunately, I cannot find a suitable replacement as the vast majority have the screw in terminals. Is it possible to convert the OE wiring to be compatible with the screw type fuel pumps? What should I be looking for hardware wise? Thanks in advance! flat screw in
I did this 2 months ago, Cut spade terminals off the feed wires in trunk and crimp the new ringed terminals onto the wires. one + and one - ground . There was plenty of extra wire on harness. NOTE !!!: The large spade terminal on the Lucas pump is (+), the Large Stud on the Bosch pump is (-). ( I assumed Large stud was + and the pump ran backwards)
The short ground wire is (Negative), the long wire is power (Positive) from the relay.
(+ to +) and (- to -)
