Default Girling shock absorbers

SNG Barratt USA is announcing that the original Girling shocks are being re-introduced but at this time only for the Jaguar E type.

As you all don't know, Girling shocks were the standard factory shock fitted to the XJ models for that creamy fabulous ride the XJ is famous for.

No more Boge shocks thank you!

Hopefully they'll start up again for the XJ

I hope they don't wear out as fast as some of the original Girling dampers.

Peter my '84 XJ-6 still has the 4 rear Girling shocks. Sure they are not as new but they are not worn out either.
What did wear out quickly were the Boge shocks I replaced the front Girlings with. The standard weight of the front killed the Boges. I still have the original front Girlings because I wanted them for reference just in case.

Jose, In fact, the ones on my Daimler Double Six lasted 7 or 8 years before being replaced by Spax. The Daimler is about to go onto it's 3rd set of Dampers. The Girlings on my Mk2 were never very effective and didn't survive long. Looking back, it may be that I drove the Mk2 a whole lot harder than I realised at the time. I was a lot younger then.

Peter I did not know Girling shocks were used in MK-2 and other saloons. I thought they were on XJ only.
